Cannasol Sustainable Cannabis: Award-Winning & Eco-Friendly
Cannasol's Commitment to Sustainable Cannabis Cultivation
Cannasol won two categories in the first annual 2023 Northwest Leaf Bowl, and has consistently been recognized for its excellence by winning various categories in the Craft Cup
Straight from the folks at Cannasol, makers of Cannasol and Lish-branded products, we relay the following:
We are committed to environmental responsibility.
By utilizing the natural light of the sun, sourcing only organic inputs, and taking care of the soil, we produce the finest cannabis without contributing to carbon emissions. We also design and source packaging that reduces the use of wasteful plastics.
We believe that the best cannabis starts with “living soils.”
We use all-organic inputs to create mircrobial communites that take care of our plants. By feeding them with our own brewed compost teas and using no-till methods, we keep the soil healthy and working to provide the plants just what they need, when they need it.
What is Living Soil?
Living soil is just that, living! Teaming with millions of microbes that ‘communicate’ with the plant to delivery just what the plant needs, when it needs it. We help the microbes thrive by brewing composts teas, not tilling the soils, and feeding all organic nutrients to the soil. The science between how plants interact with the soil is just beginning. What we do know is that plants fed with organic, living soils are less harsh to smoke and offer better flavor. Pumping a plant full of salt based nutrients is bad for the environment and leaves harsh residues in your smoke.
Sun-Grown & Light Deprivation Techniques
The magic of sunlight combined with light deprivation.
We grow in the sun, but we also practice light deprivation. What is it? It’s plant trickery!
By blacking out the sun, we create short nights in middle of the summer. This causes the cannabis plants to go into full flowering mode. The sudden reduction from 18 hours of light to only 12 hours of light unleashes a flood of the hormone responsible for plant flowering. This results in heavy buds packed with trichomes. Indoor growers use the same technique, but with massive use of electricity that is often carbon polluting. We rely on natural sunlight!
